Actor profile
Career and selected work
Alexandros Logothetis is a Greek actor working across Greek and international productions. Viewers arriving through Susan Ryeland’s adventures can follow his career back to Greek cinema and to The Island, the television adaptation of Victoria Hislop’s novel. There he plays doctor Nikolas Kyritsis. It is a useful credit to distinguish from The Durrells: both may appeal to viewers interested in Greek settings, but they are different productions with different characters and stories.
His filmography also includes Business in Balkans, Wild Duck, Amerika Square and Adults in the Room. Together these titles provide a broader introduction than his English-language television appearances alone. When searching for his films, try both the English release title and the original Greek title listed in the film’s credits. Translated titles can vary between distributors. For Ryeland Companion readers, the most rewarding comparison is between Andreas, a continuing part of Susan’s life, and the separate characters Logothetis plays elsewhere. The shared performer is a starting point for discovery, not a reason to expect another detective story.

In the Susan Ryeland adaptations
Logothetis plays Andreas Patakis across Magpie Murders, Moonflower Murders and Marble Hall Murders. Andreas is Susan’s partner, and the question of where they will build their life together runs alongside her investigations. His connection with Greece is part of the character’s story, not a manuscript-world double. In Magpie, his history with Alan Conway also matters to the contemporary investigation. In Moonflower, the hotel Susan and Andreas run makes their relationship inseparable from the practical pressures of work. Follow Andreas’s continuing story in series order to preserve those changes.
