Accessibility and technical checks
A plain-language record of the shared checks applied across the fan guide.
Keyboard and focus
Navigation without a mouse
- Shared navigation, breadcrumbs, related links and page jump links use native anchors.
- Spoiler settings use native buttons, radio buttons and selects.
- Disclosure controls use native details/summary elements.
- Escape closes the spoiler panel and returns focus to its button.
- A three-pixel visible focus indicator is applied site-wide.
Images and media
Text alternatives
- Content photographs use descriptive alternative text.
- Repeated duck logos use empty alternative text because the adjacent “Ryeland Companion” text names the link.
- CSS-background banners carry a contextual image role and accessible label.
- No video is embedded directly. Official video links identify caption availability on their broadcaster pages.
Responsive tests
320, 375, 768 and 1024 CSS-pixel layouts
- Headers and navigation wrap rather than rely on horizontal-only presentation.
- Card grids collapse to one column at narrow widths.
- Tables become horizontally scrollable inside their own region.
- Images and media cannot exceed their containers.
- Text uses relative units and reflows when zoomed to 200%.
- Hero art uses a mobile focal position while keeping text on a light readable overlay.
Motion and contrast
Shared preferences
- Reduced-motion preferences suppress animation and transition movement.
- Primary text is dark teal on cream or white; dark surfaces use white text.
- Muted source text was darkened during the 20 September 2026 audit.
- Third-party pages are outside this audit.
Audit scope
Static checks found no image tag without an alt attribute, no empty icon button without a text alternative, and no embedded iframe/video element. Shared responsive and accessibility scripts load on all published HTML pages. Last checked 20 September 2026.
