Actor profile
Career and selected work
Richard Goulding is a British actor with substantial theatre work and a growing selection of film and television roles. He plays Prince Harry in both The Windsors and King Charles III, two very different fictional treatments rather than one continuing character. His screen credits also include Freddie Foster in Me Before You, Oliver Trenchard in Belgravia and Stewart MacLean in Scoop.
For Anthony Horowitz viewers, Goulding’s appearance as Jack Stanford in the Foyle’s War episode The Hide is another direct connection. It is a separate story and should not be folded into the Susan Ryeland chronology. The contrast between The Windsors and King Charles III makes a useful viewing exercise: a shared real-world name does not create the same tone, dramatic purpose or interpretation. That principle also helps with Marble Hall’s invented identities. Begin with the production and the specific role, then consider what the story asks the audience to understand about this person in this setting.

In the Susan Ryeland adaptations
Goulding plays Harry Lyttleton in Pünd’s Last Case, the manuscript Susan edits in Marble Hall Murders. Harry therefore belongs to the period mystery, rather than the contemporary Crace family investigation. His surname is a useful anchor when scenes involve Judith Lyttleton and other members of the fictional household. Follow the book’s relationships on their own terms before comparing them with people Susan meets outside it. The series invites those comparisons, but a performer appearing in one strand should not automatically be assigned an invented modern counterpart.
