Actor profile
Career and selected work
Laura Rogers is a Welsh actor whose work includes television, theatre and video-game voice performance. She trained at RADA, graduating in 2000. Television viewers may know her as Chastity Green in The Sins or Sheena Williams in Bad Girls. Her association with Bad Girls also has a useful distinction: in the stage musical she played Helen Stewart, a different character from her television role.
That experience of separate parts within related material makes an interesting comparison with Marble Hall’s doubled casting, although the productions use the idea in different ways. Rogers’s theatre credits include The 39 Steps, with multiple roles, and Pressure, as Kay Summersby. The selection below includes stage work deliberately, because a screen-only list would leave out a significant part of her career. Where a stage title also has a recording, check the actual company and cast before assuming it includes the performer named here. Productions and revivals can have different actors in the same role.

In the Susan Ryeland adaptations
Rogers plays Julia Crace in the contemporary story and Judith Lyttleton in Pünd’s Last Case. Julia belongs to the Crace family whose history Susan begins to explore; Judith belongs to the separate manuscript household. The shared casting encourages comparison across those family structures. To follow it clearly, keep the two surnames attached to the correct period. Watch how the character is positioned within a group scene: who speaks for the household, who is interrupted, and who has information others want. These are useful questions without revealing either story’s ending.
